Madonna is going to extreme lengths to make her Madame X theatre show one of her best yet.

The pop icon has teamed up with Ticketmaster to make the gigs a “phone free experience”.

A mail out to ticket holders read: “Use of cellphones, smart watches, smart accessories, cameras or recording devices will not be permitted in the performance space.

“You need to make note of your seat location prior to entering the building – you will be unable to access your mobile tickets after they are scanned.

“Anyone seen using a cellphone during the performance will be escorted out of the venue.”

Never one to do things by halves, Madonna has enlisted a company called Yondr to hand out lockable phone pouches which are only unlocked at docking stations after the show has finished.

The decision has divided fans with some praising the move and others branding it too far.

Taking to Twitter, one supporter wrote: “I get it.

“She wants people to experience her concert in real time and be present then staring through the screen of a phone.

“It’s excessive but understandable.”

Another added: “Thank God. I hate phones and cameras blocking my view.”

“Love love this idea. Tired of people paying cash to see her through the same old black screen,” a third continued.

However, others were less supportive: “Wow what a diva request.”

“I think she should have just requested people don’t use phones like she did at the audience with,” another moaned.

Madonna’s Madame X tour kicks off in New York later this month.

The trek will reach the UK in January 2020 when Madge takes up a mini residency at the London Palladium.
