Madonna shocks fans on dramatic first night of Madame X Tour
Madonna brought the controversy at the X-rated opening night of her Madame X Tour in New York City on Tuesday.
In shocking antics, the Like A Virgin hitmaker, 61, pretended to perform a sex act on herself, swigged beer on-stage and made a jibe about President Donald Trump‘s manhood while performing to 2,000 fans at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
After performing 1986 song Papa Don’t Preach, Madonna said on-stage: ‘I think it’s important women have the right to decide what to do with their bodies.’
The Sun reports the star then switched to politics when she made a scathing political remark about the US President, saying: ‘What do you call a man with a small penis? Donald Trump.’
She then brought three of her children on-stage, with Madge asking Stella, seven, what she wanted to say to the crowd.
The youngster responded: ‘Me too’ – in reference to the movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Stella joined forces with twin sister Estere in chanting: ‘You’re not my b***h’ with the crowd.
Madonna, who made a typically late arrival on-stage at 10.30pm – and issued a ‘half-hearted apology’ – drank some beer before playfully joking she had found one of her back-up dancers on gay dating app, Grindr.
She also likened one of her songs to ‘sleeping with Mozart’.
Switching to her personal life, the Queen of Pop candidly discussed her time living in Portugal as her son David Banda, 13, pursued a career in football.
The star said: ‘I was alone, bored and without friends.
‘I was invited to a fado club. The music is made up of melancholy, sadness and longing — the best description of me.’
Madonna decided to ban phones from the first night of her tour, in a bid to be able to ‘look into every audience member’s eyes.’
Madonna’s Tour comes to the UK in January and marks her 11th concert tour around the world.
The tour is in support of Madonna’s album ‘Madame X’, which was released in June, and is largely inspired by her time living in Lisbon, Portugal.
The superstar announced the theatre tour in a short sketch uploaded to YouTube, which featured herself and DJ-and-producer Diplo.
In the video – entitled Madonna – A Madame X Tour Announcement – she told the Electricity hitmaker: ‘I’m going on a theatre tour. Have you experienced the magic of a theatre? The intimacy of a theatre? I want to have an intimate experience with my fans.’
Whilst Diplo thought the idea was ‘terrible’, Madonna insisted the small shows would make for a great atmosphere. She added: ‘Look at us, like me and you, together and like … talking. We’re just gonna vibe with each other. We’re gonna get close.’
And then speaking directly to the camera, the Hung Up singer closed the clip by saying: ‘Madame X is going on tour. A theatre tour.’ All ticket information can be found by visiting Madonna.com/’
Madonna, who turned 61 years last month, marked her special day with a trio of posts to her Instagram, featuring the superstar in full military regalia and fishnets in one picture and revealing impromptu celebrations in two videos.
